Web Implementation Team (Sunsetted)

Return to Library Home Page

The primary charge of the Web Implementation Team was to help the Libraries evaluate and select a CMS (content management system) to power the FAU Libraries' website. With the help of this committee, we were able to successfully choose and deploy a CMS. The Committee was also instrumental in helping us craft our style guide and develop the structure of the main website. With the FAU Libraries website now live and available to everyone, the work of this committee has been absorbed by the Web Design Committee.

Libraries Website Vision & Purpose

The Libraries’ website supports discovery and the creation of knowledge, in alignment with the mission of the Libraries and Florida Atlantic University. As the primary gateway to the Libraries’ collections, services, and expert faculty and staff, the Libraries’ website and its integrated systems are central to research, teaching, and learning for FAU students, faculty, and the entire FAU community. The website also serves to promote the engagement of the FAU Libraries with our surrounding communities. The Libraries’ website aims to illuminate, inform, satisfy and delight its users with well-organized and accessible, user-focused, clear, accurate and engaging content.

Charge

Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Information Technology, Assessment and Project Management, the Website Implementation Team (WIT) is responsible for choosing a CMS that will power the website and to implement the design of the new FAU Libraries website. The WIT will work closely with the Website Design Committee (WDC) to carry out the vision of the Dean of University Libraries. The WIT plans for the adoption of new web technologies and keeps informed about University guidelines for website development.
